Laura Sheeran

Laura haunting music was something lacking in the Irish musical world. for ages I’ve been listening to stuff that bordered on being totally naff just to get my hit of something deep and celtic. For me Laura’s work is brilliant because it’s personal at times and then heads off to a land of mysticism. I’ve only seen her perform live once and it was an eye opener. She is taping into something totally honest and I’d say Lauras output so far is just the tip of the iceburg.

Lupine Rot by Laura Sheeran

Her ‘Lust of the Pig and Fresh Blood’ album is coming out in the new year and was totally funded by donations to her www.pledgemusic.com page. This site allows musicians to raise funds by pledgers pre-ordering music as well as getting a ton of exclusive stuff. As well as that 5% of the money raise go to a charity of the artists choosing which in this case was Depaul Ireland.

Lust Of Pig by Laura Sheeran

It was savage that she could contribute a remix to the Bothar Buí ep. Her track stood out the most to me for being such an abstract ball of sounds. I must ask her if she has a longer version of it actually. Have a look at www.laurasheeran.com more updates.

Laura Sheeran will be playing in Nuns Island Theatre on the 27th of Nov along with ourselves, Kevin Blake and First Blood Part ii (who are in earlier posts)

Kevin Blake

Submerged by Kevin Blake

Kev Blake has been a active in the music scenes in Limerick and Cork for years now. We knew him from the Kader Fire days although much of those fine brain cells are gone and memories replaced with new ones. He hid the guitar from us for a while when he started pushing buttons with his own minimal IDM stuff. I think it must have been one of his first few gigs on his own that we got him to support us in the brog two or three years ago (Actually I have no idea how long ago it was). Listening to his stuff live is the real test of his music. I always find myself getting seriously drawn into the feeling of it rather than getting bounced off the wall as it is with alot of electronic of this ilk.

He’s been involved in running the reknowned Electric Underground for over three years and brought us loads of the world best electronic acts from Planet Mu, Black Acre and Warp.

Euphemism by Kevin Blake

He’ll be joining us at Nuns Island Theatre on the 27th of Nov. untz

He’s also done a class remix of a new tune of our ‘Johnstons Cows’ that on our ‘Bothar Buí’ release you can listen to at – http://tenpastseven.bandcamp.com.

First Blood Part ii

YouTube Preview Image

First Blood Part ii (aka) Kevin Kennedy is an experimental sound smith. I’ve seen him perform a bunch of times. He’s used everything from eating and bowing a cassette tape to pouring beer(or water) into a sink. It’s always scary but fun to see him play. He also joined us for a gig in the everyman last year a true pro at making a racket.

Cello @ The Black Mariah

So check him out on the 27th of Nov in Galways Nuns Island Theatre with ourselves, Laura and Kev Blake.
