Bothar Buí Stuff

The artwork for the Bothar Buí Ep came as a piece of slate with photographs by Ger and Síle Ní Dhubhghaill printed directly onto ech one. There’s 100 copies each with a different photo of Bothar Buí house and it’s surroundings. On the back of the slate there’s two lats of wood so you can hang it as artwork. Here’s some dodgy photos from a phone of the Slates in action.

And here’s an interview about Bothar Buí. It might give people a bit of insite into the Ep.

Orientation

YouTube Preview Image

Orientation is a video piece from Claire Guerin with sound from us. Claire has done live visuals for a few gigs of ours lately as well as lots of other projects. You can see some of her stuff here:

The soundtrack is a collaboration between us and John ‘Spud’ Murphy of Guerrila Sounds. The audio was recorded of us jamming out a few different ideas and them Spud manipulated everything as we looked back on the video to get mood going. This will feature on a DVD of sound/visuals from the Guesthouse called SeeSound.

This is footage of us playing at the SeeSound event. I think it’s the first time I sat down for a Tenpastseven gig.

Bands pt2

Here’s a few videos of bands not from Ireland we got the chance to be on the same line-up as.

Lightning Bolt – made me have to rethink things

Deerhoof – I remember seeing this clip on a VHS brutally hungover. Not a good idea. It took me ages to get into Deerhoof, worth every minute.

Giddy Motors – Best craic we had for a long time. This video was on No Disco.

Noxagt – Total filth with a Viola. thinking about watching Dick Dale on the Old Grey Whistle test DVD after the gig still makes me laugh a bit.

Charlottefield – Sound isn’t great in this video but he drummer is a feast. Their two albums are still some of my favorites ever.

Bands pt1

I went on a binge of looking at bands I used to listen to before youtube was around. It’s gas, even without seeing how most of these folks operated I think we somehow couldn’t avoid their mannerisms.

Oxes – It was Alan Healy that gave me a listen to these guys after one of our first gigs (or maybe soundcheck of the gig). I remember saying there’s something weird about ‘em. ‘Ah no bass guitar’

Sweep the Leg Johnny -

We did get to see these guys on a DVD I think it was in Limerick when we first saw ‘Michigan Fest’. Sweep the Leg definitely hit the nail on the head for me. I remember Albert raving about Vaz. their savage aswell and we got to support them in Freds.

Cheval de Frise – I can’t remember how I got into these guys It might have been the Kaderfire lads I remember having an album that Steve from Rest didn’t have. I think that was the one and only time that happened.

Don Caballero – They rightly screwed me up. Graham of Rest gave us Godspeed and Don Caballero at the same time. Of course for instant gratification American Don was the winner that day. I can remember someone trying to explain that the guitar player could loop the guitars but it made no sense to me. Its gas how messy they are live. I’m glad we didn’t see this before and held the bar high for being tight live or we would have been a shambles altogether.
