Bulgaria

I love the rhythms in this tune. As far as I know it’s actually a Bulgarian tune called Mominisko Horo, a horo being a particular type of tune ala jigs and reels. Unreal playing by the lads to. The tune is on the tail end of a Planxty song from the album ‘Cold Blow and the Rainy Night’.

Trad Prog all the way!

Another outerworldly bulgarian phenomenon is the Bulgarian Female Folk Choir. The fellow who introduced me to this stuff said he went to see them preform and fell in love with all 20 of them. I wouldn’t blame him. I also would assume he was sitting far way.

I’m crazy about the microtonic harmonies, the discipline as well as the improve stuff – there’s loads of random whooping and screeching on the albums.

It’s really just the first tune on this I’m into but it’s all I could find.

Enjoy

Duracell

Found this as I was browsing the productivity killing YouTube in work today. He breaks into a Lightning Bolt tune half way through. Savage.
